Etiquette Cards

If you've ever been in a situation where some stranger has run up to your service dog for unwelcome petting, whistled or shouted "Here, boy!" at your dog while you're trying to do your shopping, or otherwise made a nuisance of himself through ignorance rather than malicious intent, these cards might be the answer.

The 12-up, graphic-free design is intended to be inexpensive to print up even on a cheap ink-jet printer, and can even be printed on plain paper instead of card-stock if you just need slips of paper to hand people when they need a clue.

This card is not a law card, although it makes reference to the fact that many states and municipalities have laws against interefering with a service animal. You can find some of those laws on this site's list of statutes. The idea is to educate people on proper etiquette, not to quote the law at them. For situations where that may be more appropriate, I also recommend carrying the pre-printed ADA service dog cards from SitStay.

As with many things on this site, this is a work in progress. If you have feedback or suggestions, feel free to contact me.
